Directions:
Start by separating the pin from the Pin Popper.
Thread your line through the Pin Popper and through the pin, then tie on a barrel swivel.
Behind the barrel swivel, add 6-7 feet of 30 lb mono and tie on a snap swivel.
Put your favorite lure on.
Put your lure in the water behind the boat.
Let out your lead to your desired length.
Twist the pin 2-3 times.
Insert your weight and push the pin in.
When a fish strikes, the pin will be released from the Pin Popper and your weight will drop.
Note: check the laws in your area to be sure it is not illegal to drop a weight. If so, we recommend the Sinker Clip'er!
Used to maintain the weight
When using this method it is necessary to add a split ring and a #4 snap swivel to your pin, this carries the weight when a strike occurs. It's important to attach a barrel swivel approximately 6 to 8ft. in from of your lure to avoid the weight hitting the fish, and allowing room to net the fish.
When placing the pin into the popper body twist the pin two to three times, this keeps the weight from creeping down towards the lure. The pinpopper is shown after a strike, note the ball is free from the popper body and will now slide down to the swivel you attached to your mono. When using this method #30 mono is suggested.
